More projects!!

I remmebered some more projects that I had in mind, this is a good idea to just keep them all togheter in one place!

Program Table
1. Decorations: I saw this picture recently from a South African Wedding, and I love the twine with the letters written onthe pages of the book.
2. Programs: I saw this wonderful idea somewhere where the bride had written out the programs to resemble a table of contents idea in a book. I forget where that picture is right now.

Library Items

Alright here are the sites that I have been studying for certain projects:

1. Table Settings/ Placement Cards: Will be Library Cards in Envelopes in a box (Who doesnt love alphabetical order?)
a. Demco, Cards I am picking Letter D from the options two columns medium weight on white paper, one hundred per package I will need two they are 1.99 per package, 5''H x 3''W
b. Demco, Pockets come in units of 500, I like Letter D low back no imprinting (we might emboss "Library of Josana and Alex" on it later), 15.74 is the price.
c. Container here are some options: books, secret books, card file box, another box

2. Table arrangements:
a. each table will have its own set of books with washi tape tabling the number or a cut out of the number used from a page in the book.
b. Flower arrangement on the set of books or next to it

I can't decide which idea I like more so I'll have to do both!

3. Down the Isle
a. Ring Pillow/ Ring Box
I'm going to hollow out a box to put our rings inside instead of the traditional pillow
b. Depending whether or not we have a flower girl, we are going to use a secret book to keep her flower petals in so she can keep it later to put things in.

4. Guest book. Not yet decided entirely what I want to do here. We could make a book ourselves with binding and everything and have everyone wish us well, there is the traditional Chinese signature clothe, but meh. We could do the ceramic plate thingy where they sign a platter and then i fire it again. I could use the library cards again to have people write on them. We could get a typewritter and have everyone type out their message to us, but thats a lot of work!

Flower Ideas I like

As you can see I love those giant yellow flower balls, mixed with some succulents with either some simple white or yellow flowers to match would be great I'm a big fan also of those silvery leaves too or something sage-ish would be nice.

Real Wedding
that is very similar to what I would like at our, based on colors, not on the swimming hah!

Inspiration Board Time

I love the whole lemon look so fresh and beautiful and hopefully affordable. I like to be able to mixed that in with the book theme we want, if not oh well. So simple to make a little flag like that, and that garland looks great, but we aren't having any rectangle tables I believe I dunno.

The first pic here is bags with their names cut out with yellow paper behind them with a light inside, I'm all over this idea so great. I think I will decorate the ceremony area with cute little bunting garland either with paper or fabric, who knows.

Check out those name placement cards awesome! Guest book idea with colored washi tapes. Center piece idea with books and table, very doable for us.

I love the cake stand, but those cute little tape bunting garland is a great idea instead of fabric or paper. Also the babies breath garland is a great idea that hopefully affordable too.

Another way of doing a center piece with books that incorporates our colors. Cute idea for the menu selection, oil sharpies written on glass. We are definitely writing something in a book who knows what. Last picture is idea for making a photo booth station using fun props.

Flower ideas, bunting garland with fabric, cute bootinear, and the book is what Hayden is going to use instead of a pillow, we are going to put our rings in the book.

2nd draft

Eddy: Hello, and welcome back Alameda to KNGY this is Eddy Duchin show, I'll get the news to you first! The time is 8:00 pm and the weather tomorrow is high's in the 80's, which is a big surprise from that storm we have been living in all week.

E: Well we are taking callers who are going to be in the county fair this coming weekend. Hello, caller you are on live with Eddy Duchin.

Jim: Hello Eddy, I'm uh well Jim, and I'm calling to hear if you know anything about whats going on at the Shipyard, near the Naval base.

E: No, I'm sorry Jim, that's not the right answer but are you going to the county fair this weekend?

J: No, I'm not but there are these moss like creatures all over and there's a lot of people gathering and--

E: Sorry, to cut you off Jim but I was looking for people bringing pie and some 4H girls who are trying to win some blue ribbons for their sheep. I'll let you know if I hear anything about the Shipyard Jim, thanks for calling and here's a word from our Sponsors

Sponsor

E: I interrupt this message to let our listeners know that there seems to be a situation going on at the Alameda ship yard shore line across from the Naval base. I have had several callers call from the surrounding location to confirm about the mysterious moss creatures.

E: I've have sent out the KNGY on the "scene team" with Bob Needlemin to give us a better insight into what's going on. When I get back from this break out team should be ready to give us an update.

Sponsor

Bob: Live from Alameda's Ship yard on the north side near the Naval base I am Bob Needlemin from KNGY here to report about these moss creatures. I've only just arrive and already the streets are alive with activity. Hundreds of cars line the streets with more on the way hopping to get a glimpse of these creatures. As I make my way towards the large crowd on the shore line about 100 meters away I can see one man has picked up one of these creatures and is-- oh wait, there is a strong alluring sweet smell in the air now and--.

Only the sound of waves that cuts back into Eddy

E: Bob, Bob? Are you there? Well it seems like are having some sort of communication problem. I am going to try to get Bob back on the air. Back in a minute from one of our sponsors

Sponsor

E: I'm eddy Duchin on KNGY reporting on the mysterious moss creatures. we were unable to contact Bob Needlemin and get him back on the air. there seems to be some sort of uh, situation going on near the ship yard. I can hear sirens in heading toward the scene. All of my callers line's went dead. KNGY is actually only a few blocks away from the ship dock. I'm going to go out and try to assess the problem for my listeners.

E: If your just tuning in I'm Eddy Duchin reporting on the mysterious moss creatures that are appearing on the shoreline near Alameda's ship yard. I'm currently walking out of the studios here at KNGY with the help of my producer to get a better idea of whats going on for you listeners at home. I'm just stepping out the door and you can already hear the sirens from the firetrucks heading toward the scene. As I walk down the street I am getting small whiffs of candy? No, wait its getting stronger now, I smell a sickly sweet. . . .

static for a few seconds before it gets cut off.

More Sound effects

Alright as far as sound effects go I need:

1. firetruck, police passby
2. ocean noises
3. thumps, a couple?
4. possible scream
5. static/ noise tv makes before they say this is an emergency broadcast system or some bad electronic noise for the ending.
6. foot steps
7. electronic ping

Wiki reasearch

Some of the reasearch that went into making my radio show:

Question of when payphones came about:
Pay phones were preceded by pay stations, manned by telephone company attendants who would collect payment for calls placed. In 1889, the first public coin telephone was invented by William Gray and installed at a bank in Hartford, Connecticut. The invention quickly caught on, and by 1902, there were 81,000 pay phones in the United States. By 1905, the first outdoor pay phones with booths were installed. By the end of 1925, 25,000 of these booths existed in New York City alone. In 1960, the Bell System installed its one millionth telephone booth. After the divestiture of Pacific Bell (California) and AT&T in 1981, it wasn't long before independent stores selling telephones opened up. After that privately owned payphones hit the market. Unfortunately due to excessive vandalism, this market struggled.

Rough Draft

Rough Draft of how the radio show will go down

- Start off with announcer giving the weather for tomorrow
- gets a call about a strange moss like creatures near the shoreline right off the Naval base and asks questions about whats going on.
- Goes into a comercial break from sponsors
- breaks into the commercial to say there are more callers calling about infor of these moss like creatures that are causing problems. they are thought to be dangerous and are spurting out unidentified spurs into the air, and already one man is injured from these visible spurs.
- breaks into a commercial
- More reports that these creatures are all over town. officals are advising residents to stay indoors, untils matters are solved
- Commercial break
- Radio team sends out a reported to the location to investigate the situation. He gets too close smells a strange sickly sweet sent and then we hear nothing but the ocean background noises.
- Radio announcer says they are having a communication problem
-goes into a commercial break
- Comes back and says he is walking through the studio towards outside to get a closer look for the listerns, opens the door then all you hear is static. . .......

Commercials

In the radio show program I will have the announcer/Dj break into a commercial. These are the ones I think I'll be using or the ones I like best from: Listen to Retro Old Radio Comercials, and 1940's Radio Spots

3. Old Spice

5. Wild Root Cream Oil

Creature

So I finished (mostly) my "Creature", after one set back I think I am (mostly) satisfied.
Well here is what I did:
1. First I took two halves of a ball of clay and made pinch pot bowls.
2. I attached those two halves together to form a ball with a hollow center.
3. Because there is an air pocket in the center I was able to roll the ball around to get the shape I wanted.
4. I then made the imprints of the areas for the spiky parts by pressing them in with my hands.
5. I used more clay and attached it to the ball and got the look I wanted from a needle tool.
6. Next I used a real dried starfish and imprinted my texture to the shape.
7. After I got the piece to the way I wanted it I waited and waited for it to dry
8. Then I threw it in a kiln (here is where it slightly exploded on me)
9. I glued all the parts together, with a 5 min epoxy (lifespan one year) and then I painted it using acrylic paint.
