It's today
Today is our opening premier for our movie Whatever It Takes
Starring Kendra, and Jay
With filming by me! Josana
Hopefully everything goes as planned, Shona promised popcorn, so if there is none then all bets are off the table. I'm pretty sure ours is the best, no need to see the others. Also, I want to go first so it will be the most remember-able/ forgettable depending on how the showing goes.

Jay:
Tripods (small wrap around one, plus larger one, and then the large giant that can go four-wheeling for those "woodsy" shots), camera (just in case), dirty clothes, Transparencies ( left, right, straight ahead arrows, destination, and any other funny ones you'd like to have)
Kendra: completed story line, dirty clothes, research of best place to shoot in your house/ neighborhood, GPS all ready with the window holder
Josana: camera, extra batteries, computer with hard drive to upload to in case we shoot more than an hours worth (ugh!)

Gonna be a hard decision to make, but I think I like odd cast best.

Will work for free??
Here is a video I saw from Aaron Blumenshine's blog about art and the client. He is a photographer, who wrote a small blip (Photographer, don't work for free) about how he was asked once again to work for free. It is an important discussion about how working for free can devalue your own work. Which is an interesting point of view because my fiance does freelance work himself and has struggled through this same issue. Watch this video about how in other fields this type of situation would seem ridiculous.

Project 3
Okay Okay
Status update: Filming has been postponed due to unsafe health conditions
Filming for our movie GPS Strikes Back III (working title), has been postponed because of one our main characters is sick. We had planned as a group to film on Sunday (yesterday), but we got news over the weekend that she has a "gross bug". So we will have to reconvene today to see if she is A better and B when to reschedule.
Our plan was to film on location at her home, Vasona park, and the Starbucks across from the park. So only time can tell what will happen next. In the mean time please comfort yourself with these images of a blurry GPS and our story board rough draft. Enjoy!

Alright, so the other day, we had a class assignment to "interview" our other classmates on their projects. As it turns out a good percentage of the groups at the time did not know what their projects were going to be for our 3rd project. . . SO, as a group we improvised and just made due with the situation. Also, because I like to be difficult I decided that our group should chose a different story line for each interview.
I came up with eight different stories of when technology failed us. Some of my ideas were blender issues, wall socket problems, and etc. But, much to my dismay other groups got creative (shocking!) and asked us bizarre questions, others didn't even make enough time to interview us. Oh, well.
Our group got eight videos out of this class assignment, some are funny, some are so so. All in all I think the best idea our group had that day was the place we chose to do our interviews; the art dept elevator. Right off the bat the interviewers, were uncomfortable and distracted, which always makes for great movie watching. Our elevator would pick up and let off several people at some points the whole time we were filming. One guy even got on with his bike and didn't let us get in the way. Only one woman disapproved of us in the elevator, she wasn't able to just go with the flow of things.
Below I will include the link to videos we did make featured on Vimeo.
